Neighbourhood Wednesdays

First Wednesday of the Month

We have secured the Scouts Hall on Balham High Road and it is a fabulous space and a perfect location. Find it on the main road between Balham and Tooting Bec.

We began as a Drop By for local people to have a tea or coffee, meet other people and of course, learn more about us and hopefully add their name to our list of contacts.  This worked well and we soon introduced a table for patchwork, which was well attended.  We also found that links were made between people who came.  One example recently was a lady who needed help to do online shopping. Another visitor heard and knew how to help, so they arranged a time to meet. This is how we hope our community can develop and grow.

Since then, we have added crafts and table games.  To that end we are now open to drop in between 10am and 1pm.  We are responding to ideas from you and already busy knitting, sewing and making beautiful greetings cards.

We will be running a cake stall, a bring-and-buy event and staging demonstrations on subjects and hobbies as diverse as First Aid, quilting and Pilates.

In addition several Mums said that they would like a Rhyme Time for the under 5’s.  It takes place from 9.30 – 10am and we have Margo from Blueberry playsongs to lead it. Buggies are welcome and of course you can stay on afterwards to chat and have a cuppa with your friends.

All the activities are free, but if you are able, we should appreciate  donations towards our rental and costs.

Do drop by as often as suits you. Bring your ideas and help us create an important date and venue in our local community.
